Uniswap-Arbitrum Grant Program

Launch of Cross-Ecosystem Growth Initiative for Uniswap and Arbitrum
Overview

The Uniswap Arbitrum Grant Program (UAGP) is a first-of-its-kind cross-ecosystem initiative supporting projects building at the intersection of Arbitrum and Uniswap. The six month program, which was initially funded with 1m ARB tokens, has received over 130+ applications from builders and funded over 10 grants to help projects in their quest to improve Uniswap and Arbitrum.

The UAGP represents a creative and novel use case for protocol airdrops, which are typically largely allocated towards protocol incentives, treasury diversification, or sold off. A cross ecosystem grant program introduces a strong avenue to strengthen strategic bonds between two ecosystems by incentivizing projects to build at their intersection. The proposal also included a consideration for a cross-ecosystem meta-governance delegate program (UADP), which is operated outside of Areta’s purview.

Areta’s Role

Areta established a working group to develop two ecosystem initiatives: a lean grant program and a meta-governance program, using Uniswap's Arbitrum airdrop. Following an on-chain vote approval, Areta now leads the 6-month grant program along with 4 committee members. Within the role, Areta is responsible for the operations of the UAGP as well as active assessments of prospective grantees.
